Global & Community Commitment

Responsible Tech Recycling by Refurbees

E-waste or electronic waste is one of the biggest contributors of harmful trash to the environment.  Producing a computer along with its monitor takes at least 1.5 tons of water, 48 pounds of chemicals, and 530 pounds of fossil fuels.[1]  According to the EPA, the amount of worldwide e-waste generation is expected to exceed 50 million tons by 2020, with an annual growth between 4% and 5%.[2] Those are pretty dismal statistics, but different choices will definitively impact our footprint.

RefurBees knows that there is only one planet Earth and we will be the change we wish to see in the world.

Electronic products are made from valuable resources and materials, including metals, plastics, and glass, all of which require energy to mine and manufacture. Donating or recycling consumer electronics conserves our natural resources and avoids air and water pollution, as well as greenhouse gas emissions that are caused by manufacturing virgin materials. Recycling one million laptops saves the energy equivalent to the electricity used by more than 3,500 US homes in a year! [3]  By saving thousands of laptops, desktops, monitors and countless other electronics from an untimely end, RefurBees is keeping both consumers and Mother Nature a little more comfortable.

RefurBees takes hundreds of thousands of pieces of tech out of a system slated for garbage dumps, and refreshes it for new and ever-changing needs. By choosing refurbished instead of new tech, consumers directly lower their contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. That's something we can all get behind.

On a local level, RefurBees believes in the power of strong community. We are proud of our loyal employees who have been with us through the evolution of the company, some for 25+ years!
